Motives and meanings:illustrating landscapes since the Enlightenment

Dr Peter Wakelin is an independent writer, consultant and curator on art and heritage. He was formerly Secretary of the Royal Commission on the Ancient & Historical Monuments of Wales and Director of Collections & Research at the National Museum of Wales. His recent exhibitions include Romanticism in the Welsh Landscape at MOMA Wales and the Special Exhibition at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, on four realist painters of daily life in the 1930s to 1950s. He is currently researching under-appreciated British artists of the twentieth century.
